Although the Tampa Bay Area is home and not traveling for me, I often get lots of questions about places to eat and things to see within the area so I’m putting this together so it’s all in one place.

Good Eats

  • Downtown/South Tampa Area
    • Datz http://datztampa.com/ Has AMAZING food and a great brunch. Be prepared to wait to get in here. They have Datz Dough right next door with great homemade doughnuts, ice-cream, and cupcakes
    • Ulele’s-Has interesting, native inspired food with a cool atmosphere http://www.ulele.com/
    • Armature Works-This place is a huge hall with a ton of local restaurants and bars. They also have events like live music, yoga on the lawn, movie night, indie flea market, and Sommelier wine tasting.
    • The Hall on Franklin- Another food hall, this time European style where you’re seated at a table and have a menu that has a page for each restaurant. This gives you more of a chance to get a little from here and a little from there https://thehallonfranklin.com/
    • Fly Bar-has a cool atmosphere, good food, and nice happy hour. They’re renovating right now but should be reopened any day now https://flybarandrestaurant.com/
    • Bern’s Steakhouse-This steakhouse is a Tampa staple. The steaks are unreal and the experience it worth it alone. After dinner you can go on a tour of their wine cellar and collections (the largest private cellar in North America), followed by the dessert room. They have decadent desserts and desserts wine at your own private table with live music playing through the speakers.     • Oxford Exchange-Cool spot with a fun store inside of it. This place is great for brunch and does host private parties and events https://oxfordexchange.com/

    • C House-I’ve only been to this place for happy hour (and they have a good happy hour) but they have great tasting, unique drinks and appetizers. Champagne, Charcuterie, and Cheesecake….can’t go wrong (they have many other items) http://thechouse.com/

    • Daily Eats-Awesome brunch place, large portions! They have a lunch and dinner also, but I’ve never been http://www.ilovedailyeats.com/
    • Eddie and Sams- New York pizza (they actually ship New York water so it’s legit) http://www.eddieandsamspizza.com/

  • Ybor
  • Seminole Heights-This area is known for good, unique restaurants and breweries
    • Rooster & the Till- Great food and drinks. Probably one of the best in the area to check out. This place (like most in the area) is only open for dinner, starting at 4 pm http://www.roosterandthetill.com/
    • Cappy’s Pizza- Cappy’s has five locations in Tampa (the only one open for lunch is in Tampa Palms) but unless you want it for lunch check out the Seminole Heights location http://www.cappyspizzaonline.com/

  • Carrollwood Area
  • New Tampa/Wesley Chapel
    • Mr. Dunderbaks-If you’re looking for some authentic German food and beer with an authentic German feel, check this place out http://www.dunderbaks.com/
    • Acropolis- Great Greek food and fun vibe. There’s another one in Ybor also http://www.acropolistaverna.com/
    • Ciccio’s Cali-Good, healthy bowls and flatbreads. They have a brunch and regular menu that are awesome. They have some awesome drinks for brunch http://www.cicciocali.com/
    • Thai Lanna & Sushi-Small little hidden place, but they do Thai right http://thailannasushi.com/
    • Noble Crust-While you have a few options in Wiregrass Mall this is a place with good vibes, food, and drinks. They have locations in Carrollwood and St. Pete also, but this is the original. http://noble-crust.com/
    • Capital Tacos-This tex-mex/taco place is excellent and a must stop if you like Mexican https://www.capitaltacos.com/
    • Capri Pizza-N-More-If you’re looking for pizza in New Tampa this is your spot. It’s delicious and the wings and rolls are excellent as well http://capripizzanewtampa.com/
    • Ginza-This is an all you can eat sushi, hibachi, thai, and asian food place. But it’s not a buffet, you order what you want. The food’s been consistently good and the service is fast. Definitely a great find, and relatively inexpensive http://www.ginzaflorida.com/
    • There are a bunch of chain restaurants with cool vibes near the outlet malls including Ford’s Garage, BJ’s Brewhouse, and Bahama Breeze that are not your typical chain restaurants
  • St. Petersburg
  • Clearwater
    • Frenchy’s Rockaway- Open air, beach joint that’s a staple in the area. They have live music and great views. Food is generally bar food, but they have good drinks https://frenchysonline.com/

  • Sparkman’s Wharf- A brand new area (aka Channelside) that was just redone recently and is a cool place to walk around and explore. I heard it’s expensive, but I’ll check it out soon and update this
  • South Tampa: Gin Joint, American Social, Sa Ri One, 82 West Distilling
  • Beaches: Coquina Beach (Bradenton)
